In accordance with the provisions of the Investment Promotion Decree No. 8 of 2007, the Syrian Investment Authority, in cooperation with the General Establishment of Geology and Mineral Resources, announces the availability of a new opportunity in the extractive industries sector in Al-Basit region in Lattakia Governorate,
With a reserve of 2.5 million tons, it is used to produce feldspar from nephelene cyanate containing alkali and alumina feldspar.

According to a statement by the commission, the produced material has suitable specifications for the industry as a substitute raw material for the imported feldspar, with different rates and standards,
the mixture of raw materials ranges between 20% and 40% in ceramics, 25% in porcelain and sanitary ware, and between 15% and 20% in glass, enabling us to cover the needs of the country, which amounts about 75 thousand tons annually, and to achieve self-sufficiency and provide Foreign exchange.
The opportunity has all the incentives and exemptions mentioned in the Decree to Encourage Investment in the event that it is covered by its provisions, and it is considered one of the activities supported by incentives and facilities of the import substitution program
